"Lonseal Floors the Smithsonian in New York"
Carson, California June 17, 2002
“LONSEAL FLOORS THE ‘SKIN: SURFACE, SUBSTANCE AND DESIGN’ EXHIBITION AT SMITHSONIAN INSTITUTION’S COOPER-HEWITT, NATIONAL DESIGN MUSEUM.”
At the invitation of the Smithsonian Institution’s Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum in New York City, Lonseal Flooring has donated nearly two thousand square feet of its smooth resilient-sheet Lonfloor Plain, Parchment color, to be incorporated as a key design element of the new exhibition titled “Skin: Surface, Substance and Design” – curated by Ellen Lupton and set to open on May 14, 2002.
Lonseal’s Lonfloor product was specified by Architecture Research Office -- the designer of the exhibition -- for its innovative emulation of skin and its unique creative fit with the overall concept of the exhibition platforms’ conceptual design. The resulting visual effect has been impressive.
